Intercollegiate Media Fest

The department hosts its signature annual national-level intercollegiate media fest. The event invites media students from all over the country to participate in diverse creative competitions.

DIME 2026

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication successfully organized the Media Fest DIME 2026 (Don Bosco Intercollegiate Media Extravaganza) on 8th and 9th January 2026. The two-day programme featured a series of interactive workshops, training sessions, and competitions conducted by experienced professionals from the media and film industries. The Radio Jockey competition and training session were led by RJ Nidhin Midhila. A session on short filmmaking was conducted by Adarsh Augustine, along with Melbin Mathew, focusing on storytelling, technical aspects, and collaborative production processes.

A workshop and competition on reels making were facilitated by digital media influencers Sachin Thankachan and Pinchu Sebastian. The Television News Presentation and Programme Anchoring training session was handled by Saneesh T. K. Chief News Producer and Anchor, Manorama News, who imparted professional skills in news reading, scripting, and on-screen presentation. Photography training and competition were conducted by Vipin Muraleedharan, Senior Cameraman, Asianet News, emphasizing visual storytelling, framing, and composition techniques.

In addition to academic activities, the fest also incorporated mega media cultural extravaganza to enrich the overall experience. On the first day, a cinematic drama performance was presented by Jino Joseph. Additionally, a vibrant fashion show was organized, coordinated by Irshad Ibrahim and featuring models from Lavero Modelling Company. The second day featured a remarkable two-hour violin performance by Martina Charles, which added artistic value to the event.
